专利说明:

The present invention relates to a wheeled vehicle, especially for children, used mainly as a scooter.
As is well known, a scooter type apparatus essentially comprises a platform equipped with front and rear wheels and a steering column, controlling the pivoting of the front wheel or wheels. In a very general way, the steering column is movable between an unfolding position, in which it projects upwards from the platform, forming more or less a right angle with it, and a position of folding, in which it extends along the platform. In a general way also, the mobility of the steering column between these folding and unfolding positions is achieved by pivotally mounting the column on the platform, around an axis transverse to this platform, and the maintenance of this column in one or other of these folding and unfolding positions is achieved by means of a locking mechanism. This mechanism is particularly of the type comprising two adjacent circular sector walls, provided with notches, and a transverse pin coming selectively to engage in a pair of notches in each of the two aforementioned positions.
A mechanism of this kind has the disadvantage of being relatively complex to manufacture, to present parts exposed to fouling and to present parts that may be relatively aggressive in the event of a fall.
The main object of the present invention is to overcome this disadvantage.
This mechanism also has the disadvantage of not having an operation always very easy or very intuitive for a user.
The present invention also aims to overcome this disadvantage.
This mechanism also has the disadvantage of allowing only a single configuration of the machine, scooter, and therefore not to allow other possible configurations.
The present invention also aims to overcome this disadvantage. The vehicle concerned is, in a manner known per se, equipped with front and rear wheels and comprises a platform forming a step and a steering column; the steering column is movable between an unfolding position, in which it projects upwardly from the platform, and a folding position, in which it extends along the platform; the machine comprises a locking mechanism of the steering column in said unfolding and folding positions.
According to the invention, the platform comprises a well of generally cylindrical shape whose axis is contained in a front-rear plane of the platform and is inclined towards the rear of this platform forming an angle from 30 ° to 60 ° with the plane in which the footboard extends; the steering column has a lower bent portion, connected to a cylindrical base intended to be engaged in the well with pivoting capability in this well, the axis of this base forming, with the axis along which extends longitudinally the remainder of the steering column, an angle complementary to 180 ° with the angle that forms the axis of the well; and the locking mechanism comprises first angular locking means of the base in the well, in the angular position of this base in which the steering column is in the unfolded position, and second angular locking means of the base in the well, in the angular position of this base in which the steering column is in the folded position.
It will be understood that the expression "fore-and-aft plane" means the longitudinal plane of the platform which is substantially perpendicular to the plane in which the platform footboard extends, that is to say say a plane parallel to that containing the wheel axis in the unfolded position.
It will also be understood that the terms "front" and "rear" refer to the parts of the craft located respectively towards the front and towards the rear of the machine when this machine is used to move.
Thus, on the machine according to the invention, the steering column moves from the unfolding position to the folding position by pivoting said base in said well, between two substantially diametrically opposite angular positions; the respective angles according to which the well is inclined and according to which the steering column is bent make it possible to obtain the respective unfolding and folding positions of this steering column. The machine has in this way a relatively simple structure, has no part exposed to fouling, and does not include parts that may be relatively aggressive in case of a fall. In addition, the handling of the machine is very easy and very intuitive for a user.
Preferably, the angle formed by the axis of the well with the plane in which the step consists of the platform is 45 °, and, therefore, the angle that forms the axis of the base with the axis along which extends longitudinally the rest of the steering column is 135 °.
Preferably, the machine also comprises a mounting / dismounting mechanism for mounting and dismounting the steering column relative to the platform, this mechanism comprising: a groove arranged in the wall of the platform defining the well, coaxially to this well; - At least one radial projection formed on the base, adapted to be engaged in said groove and to slide in the latter during the movement of the steering column between the aforementioned positions unfolding and folding; and an inlet allowing the engagement of said projection in said groove when the base is engaged in the well, this inlet being situated at a distance from the angular positions occupied by the base in the well when the steering column is in one or other of the aforementioned unfolding and folding positions.
Thus, during the mounting of the steering column on the platform, the base is engaged in the well being oriented angularly so that said projection comes opposite said inlet, then this projection is engaged through this entry into said groove; the steering column is then pivoted towards one or the other of the unfolding and folding positions, which distances the protrusion from the inlet and thus allows the retention of the base in the well, and therefore the mounting of the steering column on the platform. The dismounting of the steering column relative to the platform operates in a reverse manner.
With this possibility of disassembly, the machine can be used without a steering column, to form a kind of skateboard; the platform can also be combined with other elements, including a removable seat integral with a base adapted to be engaged in the well and therefore to be mounted on the platform; this seat can be straddled by a child, so that the platform can be transformed into a kind of horse with wheels, or, if the seat is connected to the front handles, in a kind of "mini-bike".
The first blocking means and the second blocking means mentioned above could be formed by bolts arranged radially relative to the well and sliding between positions of engagement with the base and clearance vis-à-vis the base. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, however, the first angular locking means of the base in the well are constituted by: a first radial housing arranged in the platform, opening into the well, and a movable locking finger between an engagement position in this first housing, in which it locks the steering column in said unfolded position, and a disengagement position vis-à-vis this housing, in which it releases the pivoting the steering column; the locking pin is associated with a spring urging in said engagement position; the second means of angular blocking of the base in the well are constituted by: a second radial housing arranged in the platform opposite the first housing, opening into the well, and the movable locking finger radially between an engagement position in this second housing, in which it locks the steering column in said folding position, and a release position vis-à-vis the housing, in which it releases the pivoting of the column of direction ; said groove communicates, at its bottom, with a third housing and a fourth housing diametrically opposite one another, said third housing being able to receive said projection in said unfolded position and said fourth housing being adapted to receive said projection in said folding position; the base being adapted to adopt two axial positions in the well, namely: a first axial position, in which said projection is engaged in one or the other of said third and fourth housings and said locking pin is located at the same level as said first housing or said second housing, and - a second axial position, upper, in which said projection is disengaged from this third or fourth housing and said locking pin is offset axially relative to said first housing and said second housing.
Thus, in unfolding position of the steering column, the locking finger is engaged in said first housing by the elastic force that the spring exerts on it, and said projection is engaged in said third housing; to move from this unfolding position to the folding position, the locking finger is brought into the disengaged position vis-à-vis the first housing and then a traction is exerted on the base so as to extract said projection of the third housing and to bring this projection into the throat; the steering column is then adapted to be pivoted to said folding position; during this pivoting, it is, apart from the brief passage of said projection opposite the aforementioned inlet, retained relative to the platform, which prevents the separation of the steering column and the platform; when the folding position is reached, the projection comes opposite the fourth housing, which allows the base to fall back into said first axial position; the projection therefore falls in the fourth housing and the locking finger comes opposite said second housing, in which it engages due to the bias exerted by the spring, which locks the steering column in this folding position.
Preferably, the locking pin is integral with a bent locking member installed inside the lower part of the steering column, this locking member being pivotally mounted on the steering column between said engagement positions. and releasing the locking finger, and having an actuating portion accessible to a user, through a light arranged in the steering column.
Pressing on this actuating part makes it possible to bring the locking finger into one or other of the aforementioned engagement or disengagement positions, against the elastic force exerted on this finger by the spring. The invention will be well understood, and other features and advantages thereof will become apparent with reference to the accompanying schematic drawing, hereinafter described; this drawing represents, by way of non-limiting example, a preferred embodiment of the vehicle concerned. In this drawing: FIG. 1 is a view of the machine in perspective, with the steering column in the unfolded position; Figure 2 is a view similar to Figure 1, with the steering column in the folded position; Figure 3 is a partial view similar to Figure 1, with the steering column in a disassembly state with respect to the wheeled platform that includes the machine; Figure 4 is a partial perspective view from another angle, with also the steering column in a disassembly state; Figure 5 is a view similar to Figure 4, with the steering column being mounted on the platform; and FIGS. 6 to 11 are partial side views, in longitudinal section and on an enlarged scale, in five different positions of a mechanism for mounting the steering column on the platform and controlling the pivoting of this column relative to this platform.
Figures 1 and 2 show a wheeled vehicle 1, especially for children, used mainly as a scooter but can also adopt other configurations, as described below. The machine 1 essentially comprises a platform 2 equipped with wheels 3, 4 front and rear, and a steering column 5, controlling the pivoting of the front wheel or wheels 3. The steering column 5 includes an elongated portion 6 adjustable in length, formed of two telescopic tubes, and a handlebar 7. It is movable between the unfolding position shown in Figure 1, in which it projects upwardly from the platform 2, forming more or less an angle with the latter, and a folding position shown in Figure 2, in which it extends along the platform 2. The general parts of the machine 1 which have just been mentioned above are well known in themselves and will not be described in more detail.
The platform 2 has a substantially flat central area, forming a step on which stands the user when the machine 1 is used. As can be seen in FIG. 6, it consists of a structural body 10 and a covering shell 11. The body 10 and the shell 11 form a boss before 12. In the body 10, at the rear zone of this boss 12, is arranged a well 13 of generally cylindrical shape, the axis is, in a front-rear plane of the platform 2, inclined at an angle of 45 ° to the rear of this platform. The shell 11 forms an opening 14 opposite this well 13. A groove 15 is arranged in the body 10 coaxially with the well 13, at the upper part of the latter and just below the shell 11. This groove 15 has a diameter greater than that of the opening 14, so that it is delimited by the shell 11 in the upper part.
The groove 15 communicates, at its lower part, with two radial housings 16 diametrically opposite one another. This groove 15 and these housings 16 are adapted to receive two diametrically opposed projections 32 which comprises a base 22 formed by the steering column 5, as described below. In the lower part of the well 13 are arranged two radial housings 17, 18 diametrically opposite one another, which open into the well 13.
In addition, the shell 11 forms two radial slots 20 opening into the opening 14 (only one of which is more particularly visible in Figure 4). The projections 32 are able to be engaged in these notches 20, as can be seen in FIG. 5, as far as the housings 16, as can be seen in FIG.
The steering column 5 has a lower bent portion defining, beneath it, a cylindrical lower base 22 whose axis forms an angle of 135 ° with the axis along which the elongated portion 6 extends longitudinally.
Referring more particularly to Figure 6, it appears that the lower base 22 is formed by the lower portion 6a of the elongate portion 6 and a sleeve 25 which covers the lower portion. This sleeve 25 also covers said bent portion and the straight bottom portion of the portion 6 and is attached to these portions and portion.
These same parts and portions are tubular and house a locking member 26 for controlling the assembly / disassembly and locking of the steering column 5 on the platform 2. This member 26 comprises a lower locking pin 27, a branch intermediate 28 and an actuating portion 29. The finger 27 forms a right angle with the leg 28 and is intended to be engaged in one or other of the housing 17, 18 as visible in Figures 7 and 11.
The branch 28 is biased by a spring 30 extending between it and said lower part 6a, which normally holds the member 26 in the position shown in FIG. 6, in which the finger 27 protrudes radially beyond the wall of the sleeve 25 and is adapted to be engaged in one or other of the housing 17 or 18. The spring 30 is, however, able to be compressed so that the finger 27 can be brought into the retracted position shown in FIG. 8, in which it does not protrude beyond the wall of the sleeve 25 and is thus clear of the housing 17 or 18.
The actuating part 29 is bent with respect to the branch 28. In the position shown in FIG. 6, it protrudes through a slot in the lower part 6a and in said bent portion, as well as in the sleeve 25. The locking member 26 is pivotally mounted with respect to this lower part 6a and this sleeve 25 by means of an axis 31 driven through the lower part 6a and the sleeve 25, this axis 31 lying substantially between the branch 28 and the actuating portion 29.
The sleeve 25 comprises the two projections 32 above, integral with it, which are diametrically opposed to one another and which are arranged on a diameter parallel to the axis in which the finger 27 is movable relative to the base 22.
As can be understood with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4, the steering column 5 is able to be separated from the platform 2 and to be mounted on it by engagement of the base 22 in the well 13. this assembly, as shown in Figure 5, the steering column 5 is placed in an intermediate position between the unfolding and folding positions, then a manual action is exerted on the actuating portion 29 so as to bring the finger 27 in the retracted position mentioned above, and the base 22 is engaged in the well 13. The projections 32 are, in this same intermediate position, placed opposite the notches 20; they are engaged through the latter, then into the groove 15 and into the housings 16 as shown in FIG. 7. The action on the actuating part 29 can be released as soon as the projections 32 are engaged in the notches 20 The steering column is pivoted either towards the unfolding position (FIG. 7) or toward the folding position (FIG. 11), and when one or the other of these positions is reached, the finger 27, under the action of the spring 30, enters the housing 17 or the housing 18 as the case, thus locking the steering column 5 in one or other of these positions.
To move from the unfolding position visible in Figure 7 to the folding position visible in Figure 11, the user exerts pressure on the actuating portion 29 so as to bring the locking member 26 in the retracted position shown in FIG. 8. By maintaining this pressure, it exerts an axial traction on the base 22 so as to extract the projections 32 from the housings 16 and bring these projections into the groove 15, as shown in FIG. 9. In this position , the finger 27 is brought above the housing 17, so that the maintenance of said pressure on the actuating portion 29 becomes unnecessary, and the projections 32 abut against the shell 11, making an undesired extraction of the base 22 out of the well 13 can not occur. The steering column 5 is then rotated to the folding position shown in Fig. 10, until the protrusions 32 fall into the respective housings 16; the base 22 is thus brought into the lowered position shown in Figure 11, wherein the finger 27 is placed opposite the housing 18 and engages in this housing under the bias of the spring 30, which locks the steering column 5 in this folding position.
It thus appears from the above that the invention provides a machine 1 having, with regard to the mounting / dismounting of the column 5, the decisive advantages of having a relatively simple structure, of not having parts exposed to the fouling, and not understanding parts that may be relatively aggressive in the event of a fall.
The operation of the machine 1 for the passage of the steering column 5 from the unfolded position to the folding position, and vice versa, is very easy and very intuitive for a user.
In addition, thanks to the possibility of easy and quick disassembly of the steering column 5, the machine 1 can be used without a steering column 5, to form a kind of skateboard; the platform 2 can also be combined with other elements, including a removable seat secured to a base adapted to be engaged in the well 13 and therefore to be mounted on the platform; this seat can be straddled by a child, so that the platform can be transformed into a kind of horse with wheels, or, if the seat is connected to the front handles, in a kind of "mini-bike".
